2C Pictures is a film production company founded by Jessica Murphy and Dane McCusker. Focused on the development and production of independent feature films, 2C is named after the apartment where they filmed their first short together. They endeavour to keep this personal approach across a diverse slate of stories.

Jessica Murphy

Producer

Jess is a multi-disciplinary artist and independent producer based in Sydney, Australia. With a background in theater and performance, she brings her artistic values to all of the projects she produces. Her first short film, "The Complex," was selected for Flickerfest and St Kilda Fest in Australia in 2020. It was later chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick and has over 180K views on Omeleto. In the same year, Jess produced the short film "Diving In," which was funded by the Screen NSW Screenability grant. "Diving In" premiered at the Sydney Film Festival and Aspen Shortfest and then later was available to stream on SVOD platform ABC Iview.

In 2023, Jessica was selected as one of three producers for the Screen NSW Emerging Producer’s placement, where she spent three months with the Screen NSW investment team.

Dane McCusker

Writer/ Director

Dane is an award-winning writer/director from Sydney, Australia with a distinct passion for feature filmmaking. In 2017, Dane’s short film Angelfish was nominated for an Australian Directors Guild Award and saw him shortlisted for the Lexus Short Film Fellowship. Other festival acceptances include the Academy- qualifying Aspen Shortsfest, Hollyshorts, Flickerfest, St Kilda and the FIAPF accredited POFF Shorts. Dane has had two films selected as Staff Picks on Vimeo with an online audience of +500,000. 

Dane also worked as a producer and program coordinator on the world's longest running music video show Rage on the ABC.

In 2022, Dane completed his Masters in Film Directing at the Australian Film Television and Radio School. Dane is currently in development for his second feature film.
